The first seminar on organic certification for horticulture farms

26.12.2016. The seminar on Organic Standards, Basic Rules for Organic Orchard Pursuant to EU and NOP Standards, took place at Shen NGO Head office for the farmers involved in the first organic horticulture cooperative in Armenia. The seminar was organised within the scope of OASI financed grant project, “Expansion of Organic Fruit Production Through Upgrading the Organic Orchard Management and Streamlining Horticulturist Farmers into Organic Agriculture Cooperative”. Nune Darbinyan, Director of EcoGlobe, presented the features of organic certification according to EU and USDA standards and certification procedures for horticulture farmers to get organic certificates. Nvard Shahmuradyan, Coordinator of Agriculture projects, Shen NGO, spoke about importance of certification for horticulture farmers/producers. After the presentations lively Q&A took place. The seminar attended 24 participants.
