Field day on high value hawthorn wild collection techniques

On September 13, within the framework of the "Integrated Support for Sustainable Economic Development in Rural Mountainous Areas of Armenia" project, a practical training on the techniques and peculiarities of the collection of high value hawthorn, a crop typical for this geographic zone was held for local cooperatives in Shaghat, Angeghakot and Shaki beneficiary communities in Syunik marz. 63 farmers participated in the seminar.

The cooperative members and potential employees were provided with sacks for collection and brochures. The trainer provided practical advice on correct wild harvesting technique. The consultancy was aimed at two objectives: the wild-collected plants should have a product appearance and preservation of the plant populations during wild harvesting process.
