"Back to Nature" Summer Camp
Keeping the tradition, on July 10, the children's charity camp operating within the framework of the "Back to Nature" program again opened its welcoming doors for 50 children aged 8-13 from vulnerable families of Shirak marz. The camp is in the Yeghnajur village, adjacent to the picturesque Arpi lake in the Shirak marz. Every year, we host children here in three shifts for 8-10 days each.
The participants discover the Yeghnajur village with the river of the same name, the historical Vishapakar monument, and hydroelectric power plants through excursions. The children also visit the "Arpi Lake" National Park, where they get to know flora and fauna typical of the area and registered in the Red Book, and learn about the actions contributing to the preservation and protection of the latter. Along with all this, we organise various competitive games for the campers.
Within the framework of the camp, the children undergo training in first aid, singing, dancing, horse training, military science conducted by our border guards, and religious lessons. In the Sargis church of the village, the pastor of the Amasia region, Father Garegin, performs a ceremony of the holy christening of children.
At the end of each shift, we organize a farewell evening, during which all campers spend a pleasant time around the campfire. Children always leave the camp with positive energy and unforgettable memories.
In the end, we should mention that the camp participants are selected from the entire Shirak marz. The Armenian Apostolic Church of Shirak Marz makes the selection, prioritizing the children of disadvantaged and vulnerable families.
