The settlement of Vardenis consolidated community of Gegharkunik marz, which are located at an altitude of 1700-2900m above sea level, have always been captivating people with their flowery and watery fields, the mountains surrounding the settlements and unique landscapes, the Sevan lake encapsulating the blue sky.

Lusakunk village is one of those settlements, located 76 km southeast of Gavar, 1940 m above sea level, and 165 km west of Yerevan.

The village was founded in 1828 by seven families who were from the Vani Archn region of Western Armenia. The name of the village is translated from Armenian as "source of light". Over time, the village developed and grew, and the people of the village stood out for their hard work, creative character, and inexhaustible energy.

Lusakunk settlement has 350 households, which are mainly engaged in agriculture and animal husbandry. The settlement is provided with drinking water, but the supply of water to one district of the settlement is inadequate. The pipes in the neighborhood are old, they were last changed about 50 years ago.

Accidents often occur due to damaged drinking water pipes, and about 100 households are deprived of water for days. Water restoration works last about 3-4 days, and until then households remain deprived of water.

The source of the water is located in Khachaghbyur settlement. To bring it to the above mentioned district, 1.5 km long 4 inch water pipes, fittings, manhole and vents are needed.
