The “Shen” NGO, in collaboration with the Swiss WSL and Planval organizations, continues to implement a process aimed at increasing community resilience in the Lernavan settlement of the Spitak consolidated community in Lori Marz. This is being carried out within the framework of the FORACCA project, which is funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) in Armenia.

On October 21, we held the second workshop in Lernavan, during which the results of the first meeting held in July 2024 were discussed, the climate risks and opportunities in the community were assessed, and the first ideas were formulated to increase the adaptability of the Lernavan settlement.

The workshop became a platform for knowledge exchange between the community, regional and local self-government bodies, and specialists, promoting inclusive planning, and strengthening local leadership. This process aims to support communities to reduce the risks arising from climate change, seize new opportunities, and be prepared for both current and future climate challenges.

We appreciate the Lori Regional Administration, Spitak Municipality, Spitak State College, Vanadzor Forestry Department of Hayantar, and the residents of Lernavan for their active participation and cooperation. This engagement is an important contribution to the process of sustainable development and strengthening climate resilience at the local level.
