Shen NGO has launched "The establishment and strengthening of agricultural cooperatives with the use of improved legislation and modern technologies" three years project.
Purpose of the project
The project pursues the following goals:
To make the cultivation of fruits, vegetables, and grains more profitable for the small farmers of the 25 beneficiary villages of the project on an agro-ecological basis,
Support cooperatives to apply innovative approaches to agriculture,
Support villages/cooperatives to engage in the cultivation of uncultivated lands and generate income.
Who can apply?
Cooperatives or active groups wishing to register a cooperative in Shirak, Lori, Tavush, Aragatsotn, Gegharkunik, Syunik, and Vayots Dzor marzes that meet the following requirements can apply for the project:
The cooperative or group of farmers must have at least five members and be engaged in primary agricultural production or processing,
Group members should be small or medium farmers. The land cultivated by each member should not exceed 5 hectares. Women's groups and young farmers are encouraged to apply.
Members of the cooperative/group must demonstrate the ability to work in a team (joint activities and joint decision-making);
Members of a cooperative/group of farmers should strive to produce the same high-quality product and be willing to sell together.
The cooperative/group of farmers must be willing to cultivate uncultivated land;
Members of the cooperative/farmers' group should be interested in participating in the training organized by Shen NGO, receiving technical assistance and consulting services.
How to apply?
Interested cooperatives/groups of farmers should send their written applications to Shen NGO info@shen.am or Shen NGO field offices, submitting
the history of the cooperative/group,
list of members,
information on the activities of the cooperative/group and the agricultural products of the members.
The advantage will be given to those cooperatives that have not previously received support from Shen NGO.
The deadline for applications is March 31, 2023.
