First steps for establishing commercial links between cooperatives and food processing companies

On 17 Aug, 2017, farmers from 6 cooperatives involved in EU funded project on regional development, "Integrated Support for Sustainable Economic Development in Rural Mountainous Areas of Armenia" visited Mega Ararat and Al Vkus food processing companies in Vayots Dzor Province. The first company produces various herbal teas using wild collected herbs from Syunik and Vayots Dzor provinces. The director of Mega Ararat presented its company and described their needs in specific inputs that the farmers may offer the company. Al Vkus produces a whole range of dried fruits. In both companies the visitors got preliminary agreements on supply of specific herbs and fruits. From these 6 cooperatives representing Vardenis and Sisian sub-regions totally 30 farmers visited these companies.
