Training-consultation in Bazum and Hobardzi
On September 12, in Bazum and Hobardzi, a theoretical training-consultation was held on the topic "Organic agriculture and plant protection measures used in it". The course was organized for the members of "Bazum-Vitamin" and "Hatik" agricultural cooperatives within the framework of the "The establishment and strengthening of agricultural cooperatives with the use of improved legislation and modern technologies" project funded by Bread for the World.
In total, 12 cooperative members participated in the training. During the process, the agronomist-consultant of "Shen" NGO presented the features of organic farming, and also gave information about the development trends of organic agriculture in the world. In the second part of the seminar, plant protection measures used in organic agriculture and the features of their application were presented.
Farmers were more interested in the issues of selling organic crops in Armenia, risks arising during cultivation of organic agricultural crops, certification procedures. The agronomist-consultant of "Shen" NGO gave answered to all their questions.
At the end of the training, all participants received information leaflets developed by "Shen" NGO on the topic "Organic agriculture: a prospective direction", and brochures on the topic "Pesticides for Organic Agriculture" and "Plant Protection Without Chemicals".
