Training and Seeds to Zorakan Artsakhians
"Shen" NGO continues to implement support programs for the families forcibly displaced from Artsakh, trying to improve their living conditions through the promotion of various sectors of agricultural production and training.

On February 18, our specialists conducted a training course for 31 families displaced from Artsakh and settled in the Zorakan settlement of Tavush region on the topics "Cucumber cultivation in greenhouse conditions and varietal characteristics" and "Potato diseases and pests and comprehensive measures to combat them."

The goal of the course was to introduce the beneficiaries to a number of features of cucumber and potato cultivation, which will allow them to ensure high income with little investment. At the end of the course, safety rules were also clarified, which are extremely important to observe when conducting chemical control in the household.

On the same day, we also provided the 31 families with potato planting material and bean seeds for cultivation in their own plots. The planting material and seeds selected by specialists were specially selected for early harvest, which will allow them to sell at a higher price in the market.
This is a phase of planned comprehensive activities that will continue throughout the year within the framework of the “Empowerment of Refugees in Zorakan Village through the Rehabilitation of the Irrigation Network” program, which is co-financed by Chene France, Fondation de France, Bread for the World organizations and implemented by “Shen” NGO.
