Chene France’s visit to Gegharkunik

As part of its visit to Armenia, on May 9, Chene France delegation of 25 members visited Gegharkunik Marz. As in Tavush, Shirak and Syunik, the purpose of the delegation’s visit here was to study the effectiveness of the projects implemented by “Shen” NGO.

The delegation’s first stop was in the Arpunk settlement of the Vardenis consolidated community. Here, the irrigation water pipeline, built in 2023 with the financial support of Chene France and the joint efforts of the “Shen” NGO and the community, today allows all families in the village to cultivate 150 hectares of agricultural areas.

Afterwards, the delegation visited the programs that provided support to families forcibly displaced from Artsakh. It is obvious that their implementation has significantly contributed to increasing sustainable incomes in the region.

The members of the delegation also got acquainted with the activities of marketing groups formed in the Vardenis consolidated community. They were impressed with the work of the “Tsovak Potato Growers and Forage” Marketing Group. Having started their activities in 2024, the marketing group is already preparing to sell its first harvest.

The members of Chene France were impressed with the success and sustainability of the marketing group and other programs.
